Occupation description
General Plumbers are responsible for installing and repairing water, drainage, gas, and sewerage pipes and systems, excluding water-based fire protection systems.
The relevant qualification for this role is the CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing.
Their duties include:
- Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing system layouts and determine necessary materials.
- Installing hot and cold water systems and related equipment.
- Designing and setting up sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, including pipes and fixtures.
- Constructing and installing soil and waste stacks.
- Setting up sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems.
- Installing underground drainage systems and related support structures.
- Fitting, maintaining, and fixing gas mains, piping systems, appliances, and equipment connected to fuel gases.
- Creating and fitting metal roofing, rainwater goods, and flashings.
