Their tasks include:
- Examining plans and instructions to know what’s needed.
- Choosing and getting metal ready.
- Cutting marked metal with different tools and machines.

- Making sure parts fit together right using tools and measures.
- Joining metal parts using welding, bolts, or rivets.
- Checking welds to make sure they’re done well.
- Giving final touches and cleaning the finished products.
